I founded Healthy Hemp Pet Company for my Airedales, Che and Mya.
My journey with natural hemp (CBD) as a pet health product began with my dog, Mya. Which led to our first product!
At just six months old, Mya struggled to keep up with her brother, Che. Our vet recommended non-steroidal medication and invasive surgery, but I wanted a healthier option. Through extensive research, I discovered natural hemp (CBD) oil and tested several products available at the time. Unfortunately, these products either contained too much THC or lacked quality and transparency in their ingredients.
Determined to find a better solution for Mya, I consulted with three veterinarians to develop a superior product. This led to the creation of our first product, CannaNatural™ Biscuits, made with organic full-spectrum hemp oil. Established in 2014, we were pioneers in the industry, being the first to clearly label the CBD content and all ingredients in each product.
The Birth of a Brand
The next step was formulating a hemp(cbd) oil product that would ease discomfort in the hips and joints. Our formula for CannaNatural™ contains green-lipped mussels (a rich source of glucosamine and chondroitin) and salmon oil. View our full ingredient list here.
Pioneers in Pet Health
Healthy Hemp Pet was the first company to:
- Clearly label the ingredients and amount of CBD in each product.
- Conduct a clinical pharmacokinetic study in collaboration with Purdue University.
- Combine hemp and medicinal mushrooms in the same product.
From Mya to Many
Our products proved to be a game-changer for Mya. Within weeks, she was back to an active lifestyle, running and climbing stairs with ease. This success inspired me to expand our product line, and now we offer multiple hemp-based pet products, including CannaDrops and CannaCrush (a food topper). We’ve also incorporated USDA Certified Mushrooms into some of our offerings.
Nationwide Impact
Healthy Hemp Pet products quickly gained popularity, first with local retailers and soon nationwide. Our brand, built on natural, high-quality ingredients, and effective organic full-spectrum hemp CBD products, continues to support countless other pets across the country.
Expanding Horizons
Our commitment to quality extends beyond pets. Since we use human-grade ingredients, we found that our customers were also using our products for themselves. In 2019, we launched a human line of products, including tinctures, balm, and organic mushroom hemp tea.
